Cancellation Policy
Before We Begin
This Cancellation Policy is meant to give you a simple overview of how to Cancel your Subscription. We’ve done our best to keep it free of complicated legal jargon, so it’s easy to understand. That said, if there’s ever a difference between this Policy and our GT&C, the GT&C is the final authority.
Monthly or Yearly? How your subscription works
Monthly Subscriptions
- Renewal: Monthly plans renew automatically after a month (e.g., if you subscribed on July 23 your subs will renew on August 22).
- Cancel Anytime: You can cancel before the next renewal date, and there’s no cancellation fee.
Yearly Subscriptions
- Renewal: Yearly plans renew automatically after 12 months.
- 30-Day Notice❗: You can cancel up to 30 days before your annual renewal date, without any extra charges.
Transkribus Sites
If you have a Sites Subscription (either monthly or annual), the same cancellation rules apply as for any regular subscription—so if you’re unsure how it all works, just scroll back up ⬆️ and take a look at the details again.
📌 Sorry-Not-Sorry reminder
If you forget to cancel beforehand:
- You can still cancel after renewal, but you’ll keep access to your subscription until the end of the newly started period.
- No refunds are provided if you miss the renewal date. We recommend setting a calendar reminder⏱️—just in case.😜
Life after cancellation: data & features
Once you’ve cancelled and your subscription period has ended, you lose access to the paid features of your plan.
All your existing data remains in your account, but if you’ve exceeded the free storage limit, any “extra” data gets frozen. You won’t be able to export it until you reduce it or upgrade again.
If you cancel your subscription, your connected Transkribus Sites platform automatically goes offline.
The 14-day right of withdrawal
In Austria, if you qualify as a Consumer (under the fancy “KSchG” law), you can:
- Withdraw within 14 days of subscribing. No reason needed.
- But if we’ve already provided the entire service before your 14 days are up (for example, you’ve used all your credits)—no withdrawal is possible at that point.
How to withdraw?
Send an email to info@transkribus.org. Make sure you get it in before the deadline!
And the Refund? 💸
If you do this withdrawal thing in time, we’ll pay you back in full within 14 days.
We’ll return your money via the same method you paid, unless we make other arrangements.
When do we really say goodbye?
Canceling or downgrading your subscription doesn’t make the GT&C disappear. They’re still in force as long as you have an account with us or use any of our products or services.
